About DJW Research
DJW Navorsing (Research) started in 2001 with Dr Jaco Jurgens as Principal Investigator and a Study Coordinator. Since then, he trained many doctors as Sub-Investigators. Dr Jurgens has a Dispensing License and enabled most of the Sub-Investigators to apply for their Dispensing Licenses. The Site is linked to the General Practice of Krugersdorp Medical Centre. Recruitment for studies is mainly from the Practice, but also from neighbouring practices and medical facilities, e.g. Pharmacy and Local clinic.
Our team: Dr Jurgens, PI. Dr Vermooten, Sub-I and dispenser. Dr Merle Potgieter, Sub-I and dispenser, and Dr Ann v Staden, Sub-I.
Sr Zelna Vermooten is Site Manager and SSC. Jordan recently joined as Clinical Trail Assistant. The team is a small, but motivated group, who conducts studies with passion and dedication.
Our site is fully equiped with Callibrated centrifuge, electronic scale, -20 degree freezer, 2-8degree fridge, manual and electronic bloodpressure meters, Emergency Trolly as per SAHPRA guidelines.
All site staff have dedicated email adresses and computers/laptops. Fiber internet. Backup Generator for site and Practice and UPS for friges and freezer. Sentral temperature monitoring is done 24/7.
